Our Buildings

Spott Kirk sits in its ancient churchyard with open views to the surrounding countryside where there has been a site of Christian worship for more than 800 years and which has witnessed many important moments in Scotland’s history. Its peaceful setting continues to provide a special atmosphere for worship and, for visitors to the churchyard, an opportunity for quiet contemplation. It lends itself to particular events such as the regular Songs of Praise for all local denominations,  prayer vigils, quiet Communion services. Among the many interesting and historic features are the box pews and the building is now one of only four remaining in Scotland with similar box pews.

Belhaven consists of three main buildings: the main Sanctuary, the Church Hall to the left of the Sanctuary, and the Stables building to the rear and right of the Sanctuary.

The Church Hall kitchen has recently been refurbished to a catering standard (cooking of meals, etc.); the Stables also has a small kitchen suitable for serving teas and coffees. All three buildings are available for booking and are currently used by both church-related and non-church groups - for more information about booking the Church Hall and the Stables, contact Mary Young (07799 487340, belhavenhalls@btinternet.com), while for the Sanctuary, contact Alan Bell (07444 489284).
